How to measure your door
Take three quick measurements of your current lock before you order. They take two minutes and make sure your new smart lock fits first time.
- Door thickness: measure the edge of the door, front to back, in millimetres.
- Backset (A): measure from the edge of the door to the centre of the key cylinder.
- Centre distance (B): measure from the centre of the handle spindle to the centre of the key cylinder. Grisoll mortise locks use 85mm. Many German, Dutch and Belgian doors use 72mm.
Lift your handle to lock the door? You probably have a multipoint lock, which is common on UK uPVC and composite doors. Send us a photo before ordering and we'll confirm which Grisoll lock works with it.
